The Influential Muses – Andy Warhol, “Last Supper”

Nearly 100 variations on the same subject in silkscreens, paintings and sketches on paper. The cycle closing a career, that of Andy Warhol. We are talking about “Last Supper”, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper”, a powerful reiteration of the principles that informed the entire artistic life of the most important representative of American Pop Art, who managed perhaps more than any other to embody the contradictions of the United States.
