The Design Workshop of the “Stanze italiane” hosts a whole new section dedicated to the “world” of Venetian glass beads. Thanks to Francesca Rizzoni’s idea and words, we discover an ancient and precious form of craftsmanship, inscribed in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Historical notes and iconography on this refined form of craftsmanship have been intertwined with reinterpretations by contemporary artist Amy West and have inspired composer Yakir Arbib to create a piece for piano and glass harmonica entitled “The Pearl and the Fire”.
